Procedures for the repatriation to Tunisia:
Lutece international will guide through the process and will provide you with the information needed. The procedure usually takes 2-3 working days however in certain situations where the coroner or the police are involved this may take slightly more time. We will liaise with the local authorities and keep you informed about the progress. Once they conclude their investigation and give us the permission to transfer your loved one into our care we will speed up the process and book the flight back home. For all the Tunisian cases, the repatriation is free of charge for the Tunisian nationals and the Tunisian government through their local consulates will pay us directly for the repatriation fees.
This cost covers the collection of the deceased person from their resting place and
transporting them into our care. It covers also the collection of belongings,
documents from other localities.
These fees are to care for the deceased person in the mortuary including the preparation and dressing prior to the repatriation.
These fees are for a standard coffin suitable for the repatriation. It must have a zinc lining or zinc-cad sealing that meets the requirements of the International repatriation.
Embalming is a requirement for repatriation by air and often for repatriation by other means of transport too. We will complete an international embalming to ensure that the regulations and requirements are met.
These fees covers the access of our experts and their support during the process of repatriation. They cover also the time that it takes to manage the repatriation as well as liaising with officials, arranging paperwork and keeping all parties involved well informed during the process, We may also refer to this as the “Admin fee” or the “Case Fee”.
These fees covers the cost of transporting the coffin by an International flight to the
destination airport which is based on total weight. The quotation provided assumes a
total weight of 150kg which is not normally exceeded. Some airlines provide free
